Support in words and action

International students can sometimes face particularly difficult situations while studying in Germany. 
At ESG Darmstadt, we offer confidential counselling by appointment and, in certain cases, financial assistance for students who find themselves in financial hardship through no fault of their own.

Our counselling and financial support are specifically aimed at students from the Global South, including countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Southeastern Europe.
Who can apply for financial assistance?

Financial support may be available to international students who:

• are experiencing financial hardship through no fault of their own
• are studying in Darmstadt
• hold a student residence permit (§ 16) or have fled their home country
• are making satisfactory progress in their studies
• were no older than 30 when they began their studies
• come from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Southeastern Europe
• are willing to participate in seminars offered by STUBE Hessen
• are willing to participate in seminars offered by ESG Darmstadt
• share our commitment to an open and pluralistic society and are willing to engage with us in this work
